L‘Institut pour l’Etude des relations Franco-Australienne (ISFAR) congratule Phoebe Weston-Evans, Editrice associée à la French Australian Review, pour la nomination de sa candidature pour l’inaugurale  Medal for Excellence in Translation remise par l’Académie australienne des humanités (the Australian Academy of the Humanities).
Phoebe Weston-Evans fait en effet partie des trois candidats pré-sélectionnés, pour sa traduction du livre Accident nocturne de Patrick Modiano (Paris nocturne, publié par Text Publishing et Yale University Press).

« Patrick Modiano won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2014 “for the art of memory with which he has evoked the most ungraspable human destinies and uncovered the life-world of the Occupation”.
Phoebe Weston-Evans’s elegant translation succeeds in capturing the compelling, haunting nature of Modiano’s exploration of the themes of memory, loss and identity, and the suggestive qualities of his subtle prose style. The panel also noted the success of Text Publishing in securing the rights for both ‘Accident nocturne’ and ‘La Petite Bijou’ as an important coup for Australian publishing and translation. »
