If you are currently registered on the consular list of Sydney, you will be able to vote in person at the polling station in Melbourne. The Melbourne polling station located at Auburn High School needs volunteers!
To participate in the minding of the Melbourne polling station, you must:
- be registered on the consular electoral list in Sydney
- provide your contact information and availability to the following address: elections.sydney-fslt@diplomatie.gouv.fr
VOTING PROCEDURES
To vote in person, you must prove your identity by presenting one of the following documents:
- a French national identity card, valid or expired;
- a French passport, valid or expired;
- any other valid official* French document; a consular registration card;
- any other valid official* document issued by a member state of the European Union or the European Free Trade Association (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland).The Australian driver’s license is not an identity document that allows you to vote in European elections. An official document must include the name, first name, date and place of birth, and photograph of the holder, as well as the identification of the administrative authority that issued the document, the date, and place of issue.
Proxy Voting
In case you cannot go to your polling station on election day, you can establish a proxy in favor of a trusted person. Please consult our article or the article of the Consulate General of France in Sydney.
