Once again, the Alliance Française de Melbourne is proud to bring the Fête de la Musique to Melbourne! This celebration of music is successfully held across 5 continents and 120 countries, every single year.
Founded in France in 1982, the Fête de la Musique aims at bringing people together thanks to the power of music. Featuring free events, it gives people of all backgrounds a chance to play and enjoy all types of music. Amateurs as well as professional musicians make this event a vibrant celebration of world culture and an unmissable festival.
Two shows will be held in St Kilda in June:
- On Thursday, June 18th from 5:30 pm at the St. Kilda Library, there will be music for the whole family to enjoy, featuring performances by the Port Melbourne Primary Choir, Elwood College‘s senior musicians, folk and country singer Kevin O, and two ensembles of the Australian National Academy of Music.
- On Friday, June 19th from 7:00 pm at the Prince Bandroom, Melbourne singer-songwriter Dave Graney will MC an evening of performances from local bands Vive la Difference, The Reprobettes, Benny Walker, The Vaudeville Smash, with DJ Vincent Hanon performing well into the night.
