The “Anciens Combattants du Victoria” is a dynamic association of French veterans led by a Committee presided by Claude Midon. Two major events are coming up very soon :
- 24 April at 1:30pm – Commemoration of The Battle of Villers-Bretonneux in front of the 69th Bataillon’s Tree (to the East of the Cenotaph’s forecourt). Villers-Bretonneux played an important role in defeating the German attack which began in March 1918. This gathering will commemorate the combined actions of the 13th and 15th Brigades – who suffered enormous losses during the battle. Since this battle that took place in the night of the 24th till the 25th of April 1918, a true and enduring story of friendship between Victoria and France was born.
- April 25 (Anzac Day) the Anciens Combattants will take part in the traditionnal annual parade.
Come and support them ! If you want to participate in the parade or become a member of the “French RSL”, please contact Mr. Midon.
