French Academic Jean-Francois Vernay was born in New Caledonia and has produced works in English and in French. He has just released his new book entitled Forteresses insulaires. It is a work of two fictions mixed with poetry that explore the dark pasts of a bygone era. Vernay takes us on a journey following characters haunted by their traumas and troubles.
