120 years old, what a grand old age for Madame Berthe Mouchette! She would have been impressed by the strength of her legacy! This year, 2014, the Berthe Mouchette competition was even more special as it coincided with the centenary of the start of the First World War.

Proud parents, happy teachers and members of the French community gathered together to celebrate the laureates in the majestic St Kilda Town Hall. And it was wonderful to see these young students of the French language and culture ready to continue the tradition of friendship between France and Australia.
