Annette Kellerman

This exhibition relates the audacious life and career of Annette Kellerman (1886 – 1975). Born from a French mother, Annette was a synchronised swimmer, the first woman to wear a one piece-bathing costume instead of the then-accepted pantaloons. She was also a talented actress and writer.

Artist Lisa Barmby pays tribute to Annette Kellerman who greatly inspired her through her courage, modern female sensibilities and her French-Australian connection.
