A dynamic educational platform to help the young generation achieve their full potential, Opera Scholars Australia will host the final of their French Art Song Competition on Thursday, May 30th at 7:30 PM. This event, which will take place at the Hawthorn Arts Centre in Melbourne, will determine the winner of this prestigious competition.
After rigorous preselection, four finalists will perform in front of a distinguished jury consisting of Peter Coleman Wright AO, an Australian baritone, and Cheryl Barker AO, an Australian lyric soprano.
It will be a fun evening filled with French opera. From the melodies of Debussy and Faure to the dramatic song of Ravel, the audience will be immersed in the art and sophistication of the French musical tradition. The winner will receive a prize of $2000 to support their studies. The second prize is a French language course from the Alliance Française de Melbourne.
