Claudine Lepage, a French senator representing the French citizens living outside France, was in Melbourne the Friday 20 May and Saturday 21 May to meet the French community in Victoria.
Her first day, Friday 20 May was very centered around education.
The senator, accompanied by Mr. Jean-Philippe Grange, Conseiller Consulaire and Mrs. Myriam Boisbouvier-Wylie, Honorary Consul-General of France in Melbourne, made several visits to schools with a French program like Caulfield Junior College, Camberwell Primary School and Glen Eira College where he visited classrooms and met with the teaching staff. He then received the representatives of several associations of French parents.
The Senator then gave an interview at SBS Radio. Later that day she met the French associations of Victoria at a reception organised by the Honorary Consul-General.
Saturday 21 May the Senator held a Public Parlementary Permanence at the Alliance Francaise de Melbourne. She then visited Auburn High School and attended a fundraising event on the evening.
