On Monday, 16th March, at the State Library of Victoria, the Honorary Consul General of France, Mrs Myriam Boisbouvier-Wylie, launched the book Awakening, Four Lives in Art, by Dr Eileen Chanin and Steven Miller.
This book tells the story of four destinies of extraordinary women born in Victoria at the end of the 19th century, who lived through two World Wars, but never ceased to pursue their passions. One of them, Louise Dyer, at one time President of the Alliance Francaise de Melbourne, played a big role in the promotion of French culture and music in Victoria, before finishing her life in Monaco.
