International Connections in Melbourne

There are always interesting activities happening in multicultural Melbourne !

On Wednesday 16th August, which was also the night when the Australian Matildas unfortunately lost to the British Lionnesses in the Women World Cup Soccer Semi-Finals, two other events were held:

  • The Indian National Independence Day ,celebrated in presence of the Consul General of India in Melbourne, Dr Sushil Kumar, the Minister for Multicultural Affairs, the Hon. Colin Broks and the Leader of the Opposition, the Hon. John Pesutto, in front of a large audience of Indian and local dignitaries.

  • The reception by the New Zealand Consul General and Trade Commissionner, Bella Katz, of a thirty plus delegation of women entrepreneurs. This was the opportunity for a handful of French female business leaders to come and exchange with them around a drink while watching the semis. A very convivial way to create international connections!
