On Sunday 20th September, the Royal Air Forces Association held a memorial service for the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain at the Shrine of Remembrance. Mme Myriam Boisbouvier-Wylie, the Honorary Consul General of France in Victoria, attended the event alongside Mr Gareth Hoar, the Consul General of the United Kingdom in Victoria, Mr Ted Hayes OAM, Chairman of the RAFA Melbourne Brance, and several veterans of the conflict and other dignitaries.
The solemn ceremony honoured the sacrifice of all members of the Royal Air Force, the Royal Australian Air Force and Allied Air Forces, and those who gave their lives in the Battle of Britain. The French Association des anciens combattants was also proudly in attendance.
