On 14 July, the “Association des Anciens Combattants” (French RSL), under the presidency of Mr Claude Midon, organised a ceremony to commemorate Bastille Day at the Shrine of Remembrance. The speeches delkvered during the moving cermony reiterated the values at the cornerstorne of the French Republic: LIBERTY, EGALITY, FRATERNITY.

The young students of the French bilingual School Camberwell Primary School laid a wreath to honour their forebears who valkiantly fought to defend the democratic values.

The national anthems were then sung with gusto. Singing the Marseillaise was a good preparation for the Soccer World Cup Final held the following night !
