On May 18, Glen Eira College students were formally invited to Paris to collect their award from the prestigious French competition “dis moi dix mots”.
Glen Eira College which has the Label FrancEducation received 1st prize in the category “Overseas Schools”. Loveena Narayanen, French teacher and coordinator of the Department of Languages, was delighted with the results as the college had been celebrating francophonie week for the past eight years.
The competition, held annually by the French Ministry of Education, aims to celebrate language and cultural diversity through poetry, photography and drawing. The theme for the 2017 competition was the internet, whereby Glen Eira students produced a website which they used to publish their creations.
Hélène Carrère d’Encausse, Secretary of the French Academy, as well as Loïc Depecker, General Delegate of the French language and the languages of France, were very impressed with all the projects presented.
Bravo !
