Each year, Year 9 and 10 students throughout Victoria are encouraged to engage with an important part of Australia’s history and to follow on the footsteps of the ANZACs through participating in the Premier’s Spirit of ANZAC Prize .
On Monday 6 February, a ceremony was held near the Parliament of Victoria and the Hon. Christine Cousins, MP for Geelong, representing the Premier of Victoria presented the certificates to the winners of the competition. This was a joyous occasion in front of many proud parents, teachers and local MPs!
The laureates will now participate in an overseas tour following the footsteps of Australia’s World War II veterans visiting places of national significance in Darwin & Singapore to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the bombing of Darwin and the fall of Singapore.
