Prime Ministers Manuel Valls and Malcolm Turnbull in a joint press conference

After the announcement that French company DCNS won a $50 billion contract to help build Australia’s twelve new submarines, French Prime Minister Manuel Valls, already in official visit in New Caledonia and New Zealand, decided to come and pay an impromptu courtesy visit to  Australian Prime Minister,  Malcolm Turnbull on Monday 2 May.

HE Mr. Christophe Lecourtier, Ambassador of France in Australia took this opportunity to host a cocktail party at the Embassy for a select group of the French community. It was the first time that Manuel Valls came to Australia and Canberra’ s weather was at its finest!

It was a pleasure to see the former French Ambassador, HE Mr. Stéphane Romatet who is now special adviser to the Prime Minister.
