You will be able to see the sparkling collection of Gwenyth Todd, a direct descendant of Napoleon’s brother, Louis Bonaparte. Ms Tood now lives in Australia and wanted to display  beautiful porcelain, crystal, paintings and exquisite jewels, all with intriguing histories involving royalty, espionage, infidelity, gypsies and freakish deaths. The collection includes a painting and a sketch by Franz Xavier Winterhalter; a Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI diamond studded necklace and chain, a fine miniature of Napoleon III, a certified piece of Napoleon’s coffin and cashmere fragments worn on his deathbed in St. Helena, a bust of Louis XVI of Holland… and many other treasures that, through a series of unlikely events, have found their way to Australia.
