On Friday the 17th of July, the book ”French Lives in Australia” was launched at the State Library Victoria.
The book, inspired by Mr Eric Berti, former Consul General of France in Sydney, is an anthology of biographical essays on remarkable French women and men in Australia edited by Professor Ivan Barko in collaboration with prominent Australian historians of French-Australian relations from ISFAR (Institute for the Study of French-Australian Relations).
The 400 pages tell the story of some of the leading French figures who lived in Australia between 1788 and the 1980’s.
His Excellency Mr Christophe Lecourtier, French Ambassador in Australia, came to support the launch of this book, along with Mrs Myriam Boisbouvier-Wylie, Honorary Consul General of France in Melbourne.
