On the 16th of July, the 2nd edition of the LumièresVert GreenTech Pitch Contest took place at Federation Square ACMI (Australian Centre for the Moving Image). This conference was the last one of the Bastille Day French Festival Melbourne “Les Lumières” Conference series , inspired by the Enlightenment movement of the 18th century. This Lumières VERT was a collaborative effort of the Bastille Day French Festival with LA FRENCH TECH Australia and FACCI.
Under a luminescent green glow, and with luminescent from Aglaé, the conference aimed to create new and innovative ideas, with a pitch contest for sustainability projects.
Prune Bokobza, coordinator of French-Australian Centre for Energy Transition (FACET), and Allison Kealy, Director of Innovative Planet at Swinburne University of Technology and Interim co-director at FACET, held the opening remarks of the event. Myriam Boisbouvier-Wylie, Honorary Consul General of France in Melbourne was the Master of Ceremony.

Seven startups took turns, including: Capricorn Power,Farmwall,Glowee, Sphere for Good, SolidHydrogen,Savic Motorcycles, and Wildfire Energy; they were given 3 minutes to show us how their technologies could drive lasting positive environmental change.
The distinguished jury members provided invaluable contributions, judging each of the promising French and Australian startups. Congratulations to the winner, SolidHydrogen, with the Specila Audience prize going to Wildfire Energy!

Following the sessions, there was the opportunity for networking cocktails where everyone could engage with like-minded tech professionals, industry experts, investors, and academics who share a passion for sustainable solutions in the French and the Australian innovation ecosystem.
