On October 23, 24 and 25, the AAFEBS Australian Association of French English Bilingual Schools held its annual conference in Melbourne organized by Caulfield Junior College, in the presence of Boris Toucas, Cultural Counsellor to the French Embassy (COCAC), Véronique Danjou President of the AAFEBS and Guillaume Cario Regional Director of the AEFE for the Asia-Pacific zone.
Over two days, professionals in education and in French teaching coming from all over Australia, gathered together to partake in the conference followed by a series of workshops.
The opening included a speech by Stephen Fraser MP Secretary of the Schools Support Program (SEPS). Then Jo Lo Bianco Professor Emeritus of the University of Melbourne led the discussion on the future of bilingual education in Australia. The workshops targeted the difficulties and successes of bilingual education
The day finished with a cocktail in the premises of the Honorary Consulate of France in Melbourne.
