On Friday, October 7, the Melbourne Accueil association haeld their AGM and elected a new president and new office bearers.

The non for profit association is dedicated to greeting new French-speaking people arriving in Victoria and  creating opportunities for them to meet with fellow francophones

After leading the ship in the disruptions of the pandemic, fomer president Sabrina Teller passes the baton to Laure Moisson Vinsonneau who has now become the new President of the Association. Living in Melbourne since 2021 and an active volunteer with Melbourne Accueil, Laure underlined ”the rich and diverse alchemy” of the French speaking community of Melbourne and wishes to make it ”prosper with all the volunteers of the association.”

Elise Ohier, Treasurer, has lived in Australia since 2019. Having already been in charge of the association’s bookkeeping for the past three years; she also helps to maintain the website. But what she loves above all is dancing! A next salsa night with MA?!

Celine Come, Secretary: Céline arrived in Melbourne in 2022 with her family and quickly joined the association. Melbourne Accueil allowed them to integrate into the local community. She is now happy to volunteer her time to help newcomers feel at home in Melbourne.
